The Yamaha Arius YDP-S35 uses piano sounds recorded from the Yamaha CFX concert grand. This renowned instrument combines sparkling overtones with a powerful, resonant bass. In addition, this model offers 9 extra instrument voices (including electric piano, organ, vibraphone, and strings).
Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keyboard
The Yamaha Arius YDP-S35 is equipped with a weighted synthetic keyboard featuring 88 keys (Graded Hammer Standard). This provides a natural response and playing feel that closely replicates a grand piano. The sustain pedal also includes a half-damper function, allowing for even greater expression.
Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM Lite)
The Yamaha Arius YDP-S35 features the updated Virtual Resonance Modeling Lite (VRM Lite) technology. This realistically reproduces the sound of a grand piano by simulating the complex interaction of string and soundboard resonance.
Tone escapement
The YDP-S35 uses a newly developed tone escapement construction on the back of the cabinet, projecting sound from within the piano. This creates a natural sound projection and three-dimensional resonance, similar to an acoustic piano.
Compatibility with Smart Pianist app
The YDP-S35 is compatible with Yamaha’s free Smart Pianist app. Simply download the app to your smartphone or tablet and connect it to the instrument. With this app, you can easily control different voices, access sheet music for the built-in songs, and explore the advanced Piano Room function to adjust sound quality and resonance.

The YDP-S35 uses new technology that optimally adjusts the sound balance based on the volume you set, ensuring a remarkably natural sound that is pleasant to listen to and gentle on the ears, even during long practice sessions.
