Roland KIYOLA: art, craftsmanship and sound in perfect harmony
At Piano’s Maene, we strive to present instruments that not only sound beautiful but are also true eye-catchers in your interior. We are proud to highlight the Roland KIYOLA series: a collection of digital pianos that combines traditional Japanese craftsmanship with world-class modern piano technology.
A piano as an art object
The KIYOLA series emerged from a long-standing collaboration between Roland and the renowned Japanese furniture maker Karimoku, specializing in handcrafted woodwork since 1940. Each instrument is assembled with great care and showcases unique wood grains and natural aging patterns that only become more beautiful over time. This ensures that every KIYOLA is a unique work of art. No two pianos are exactly the same.
Roland offers two models within this series:
-
KIYOLA KF-20 — Featuring soft, curved lines and an elegant presence that blends harmoniously with your interior.
-
KIYOLA KF-25 — With more angular, architectural lines inspired by Japandi design, a blend of Scandinavian simplicity and Japanese philosophy.
Both models are designed according to the Japanese concept of “wa”, the profound aesthetic of harmony and balance between space, material, and function.
Sound and playing experience: modern and authentic
Despite its refined cabinetry, the KIYOLA is anything but superficial. Roland’s Piano Reality Modeling technology delivers a rich and expressive sound palette comparable to that of many acoustic pianos.
The PHA-50 keys provide a realistic, natural touch with high precision, inspired by the feel of a grand piano. The response is both dynamic and nuanced, making it perfect for passionate pianists as well as serious students.
Smart digital features
The KIYOLA combines classical piano ambition with modern technology:
-
Bluetooth connectivity to play along with your favorite songs via tablet or smartphone.
-
USB ports for connection to computers and storage devices.
-
Integration with the Roland Piano App, allowing you to adjust sound settings, follow lessons, or record your performances.
-
Two headphone jacks for silent practice sessions without disturbing others.
Genuine quality — from wood to sound
What truly sets the KIYOLA apart is the fusion of traditional craftsmanship and modern piano technology. The wooden cases are crafted using techniques such as Hikimono (for the soft curves of the KF-20) and Sashimono (precision lines in the KF-25), giving the instrument a serene, natural appearance.
Additionally, modified wood is used strategically in areas where it enhances stability. This provides a guarantee against warping due to changes in humidity or temperature.
